Pag-IBIG Fund proved Cory’s wrong about Marcos

Noong 1986 snap election, ang palaging akusa ni Cory Aquino kay dating Pangulong Ferdinand E. Marcos (FEM) ay magnanakaw.  Kaya nang nagtagumpay si Cory, noong 1986, na ipa-kidnap si FEM ay gumawa siya ng Presidential Presidential Task Force on Shelter para tingnan ang Pag-IBIG kung may makita silang katiwalian sa kapanahunan ng adminastrasyon ni Marcos.  Ngunit, nabigo si Cory dahil tama at malinis ang pamamalakad ng Pag-IBIG sa ilalim ng pamamahala ni Marcos.

Ayon sa website ng Pag-IBIG,

“Months after former President Corazon C. Aquino assumed leadership of the country, Pag-IBIG contributions were suspended from May to July 1986. This gave way to the Presidential Task Force on Shelter to conduct a thorough review of the Fund and its operations. The task force later affirmed that Pag-IBIG Fund was run professionally and that there were no anomalies in the Fund.”
